I HEARD THE BELLS ON CHRISTMAS DAY
from the First Sunday of Advent

More than 15 years ago the music group "Casting Crowns" sang I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day in a live concert. Pastor Doug took that video and added pictures to enhance it's message.

The lyrics were written by the famous American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow during the time of the American Civil War. Not long before penning the words his wife's dress caught on fire and she was killed despite his efforts to save her. Soon after, his son was severely wounded in battle. His powerful lyrics have been set to music numerous times. "Casting Crowns" did a great job. Check it out.
